Peacefully Purple Power

After one of the most divisive elections in recent history, the meaning of the color purple is even more significant. Just think about it for a minute. Red and blue coalesce to make purple. Purple symbolizes calm serenity and unity, along with a fiery ambition to never stop the fight. Instead of fighting each other, we need to fight FOR each other.

We need to join forces to combat the cynicism, racial divide and systematic inequities that engulf our country. It will be a long, bumpy road and one that may be strewn with some setbacks over the next four years. However, it’s time to get over the grief and believe me, I grieved in a way I never have after an election in the past. Yet grief eventually dulls toward acceptance. This isn’t acceptance of the status quo, but acceptance of only one result we cannot change. Yet we can change our future and as an internal optimist, I know it is possible. But it is only possible if we come together and unite for PEACEFULLY PURPLE POWER. Let’s keep up the fiery purple fight for each other every day. Respect one another. Say thank you. Say hello. Show you care. Simple things go a long way. We can do this.
