Being a Practically Purposeful, PEACEFULLY PURPLE Person

What’s in a name? Everything I say.

Words, especially names, provide meaning and depth to our lives, opening a descriptor window into who we really are.

That’s what this blog is all about – finding the meaning and beauty that lies beneath us.

Often ignored, this beauty is exchanged for other things in life that supposedly provide more satisfaction. However, the question becomes – do these “things” provide sustaining satisfaction or is it all a farce?

Society prompts us to chase ambitious career goals, to go to college and to work and work and work, until the stress and exhaustion corrode any enjoyment we may derive from these activities. It’s only the American way - to put your time in and to exert extra effort to get ahead.

But is getting ahead worth the trouble? Perhaps you may have more money, but also less time with the ones you love. Also, with the time you do have, you find you are barely hanging on. That is no way to live life. That is why I propose a different way to live life – PEACEFULLY PURPLE.

My first name, Erin, is Gaelic and its meaning is “Peace”. My favorite color is purple. The color purple is often noted for its royal qualities. However, it is also known for its harmonious uplifting ability, for providing calming mental balance, sparking creativity and for fostering imaginative dreams.

It's the mysterious enchantment and deep symbolism surrounding the color PURPLE that inspired this blog. Here's to being practically purposeful and PEACEFULLY PURPLE people every day.
